  • Clients with a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral from their GP may be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $149.05 per psychology session, for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year.

  • Following your first six sessions, your GP will review your progress before providing a referral for any additional eligible sessions.

Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan

  • Some clients with a chronic or complex medical condition may be eligible for Medicare rebates through a Chronic Disease Management Plan arranged by their GP.

  • Under this scheme, Medicare provides a rebate of $63.40 per session. A maximum of five allied health sessions per calendar year may be claimed across all eligible allied health providers (e.g., psychology, physiotherapy and dietetics).

Please discuss your eligibility with your GP.

If you have extras cover with a private health insurer, you may be eligible to claim a rebate for psychology services. Please contact your health fund directly to confirm your level of cover.

Please note that Medicare and private health insurance rebates cannot be claimed for the same appointment.
